I'm António Guterres, the Secretary-General of theUnited Nations.

我是聯(lián)合國(guó)秘書(shū)長(zhǎng)安東尼奧·古特雷斯。

The Year of the Rooster symbolizes early starts andnew beginnings. It stresses the importance ofenergy, determination and a strong sense ofresponsibility at work. These are inspiring attributesto help guide us in troubled times.

雞年象征著凡事早早行動(dòng)，也象征著迎來(lái)新的開(kāi)端。雞年強(qiáng)調(diào)的是在工作中必須充滿(mǎn)活力，下定決心，還要有強(qiáng)烈的責(zé)任感。這些品質(zhì)有助于激勵(lì)鞭策我們應(yīng)對(duì)艱難時(shí)期。

I've called for 2017 to be a year for peace. We must work together to overcome conflict,human rights abuses, poverty and other crises. Above all, we must work to prevent theseproblems in the first place. This is why I've made prevention a top UN priority.

我已呼吁將2017年作為促進(jìn)和平之年。我們必須共同努力克服沖突，打擊侵犯人權(quán)行為，消除貧窮，解決其他危機(jī)。最重要的是，我們對(duì)這些問(wèn)題必須防患于未然。這就是我為什么把預(yù)防當(dāng)作第一要?jiǎng)?wù)。

And China plays a vital role for the UN. I recently had the honor of meeting with President XiJinping in Geneva and I welcome his commitment to multilateralism and to strive to advanceour common goals for the future.

中國(guó)為聯(lián)合國(guó)發(fā)揮著至關(guān)重要的作用。我最近有幸在日內(nèi)瓦會(huì)見(jiàn)了習(xí)近平主席，我對(duì)于習(xí)主席承諾今后在我們推動(dòng)共同目標(biāo)的過(guò)程中堅(jiān)持多邊主義表示了歡迎。
